As well as the outer smoothness of ceramic pottery, it’s also important to look at its inner temperature. Cooler temperatures produce more fusible ceramic materials. Fusible ceramics are those that are more malleable, able to bend into shapes. However, hotter temperatures tend to produce harder ceramic materials that are less flexible. This type of glaze can be found in a wide range of colors but is the preferred type of glaze for ceramic pottery items that are flat on the bottom and have a smooth outer surface.
